Staff Engineer – Software (Dish Network LLC, Englewood, Colorado)
Design, develop, and implement scalable, reliable, and secure enterprise software systems supporting core operational functions (10%); provide technical leadership across system architecture, application integration, and cloud-based development initiatives (9%); lead the design and development of distributed systems, microservices architectures, APIs, and data integration services across enterprise platforms (9%); collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-performance, resilient, and maintainable applications (8%); define system architecture and guide design decisions to ensure alignment with performance, scalability, and security requirements (8%); establish and promote best practices for software development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and system security (7%); participate in code reviews, architectural design discussions, and technical planning to ensure code quality and system integrity (7%); develop and maintain backend services, batch processing systems, and data workflows to support large-scale data processing (8%); work with relational and cloudbased data systems to optimize application performance and data reliability (7%); contribute to system modernization initiatives, including platform upgrades, cloud adoption, and performance improvements (7%); partner with DevOps teams to implement continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines, automation, and release processes (7%); support production environments by troubleshooting issues, enhancing system reliability, and maintaining operational stability (7%); and provide technical guidance to engineers, support distributed team collaboration, and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing (6%). Salary: $171,454 – $180,900 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 6 years of professional experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or any occupation, job title, position involving developing interactive webservices using Java, Spring Boot, and SOAP.
Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience developing software applications using object-oriented programming languages including Java; 4 years of professional experience writing queries, procedures, views, and packages in Oracle PL/SQL databases using SQL Developer; 4 years of professional experience designing, developing, consuming, and producing RESTful web services and APIs; 4 years of professional experience developing microservices and enterprise applications using Spring Boot, Eclipse, or IntelliJ; 2 years of professional experience improving application performance, debugging applications, and supporting software deployments in Linux/Unix environments; 2 years of professional experience accessing servers, reviewing application logs, managing permissions, and executing Unix/Linux commands and scripting activities; 2 years of professional experience working with distributed systems, microservices architecture, enterprise application integration, or cloud-based/scalable infrastructure environments; and 2 years of professional experience following Agile methodologies, participating in Scrum and Sprint activities, and performing unit testing using JUnit and Mockito.
